Summer Camping 2004

2004's camping event was held at Camp Meriwether a Boy Scouts of America (BSA) camp site. With the help of Laddie Buck and many others from the Cascade Pacific Council of BSA, CACO was able to have many activities to keep everyone entertained.  Archery, canoeing, volleyball, football, and traditional Khmer games were some of the highlights from 2004's camping trip.  A Poker tournament was organized with all proceeds going to CACO and the winner received a trophy and bragging rights.  And of course, dancing and music was played all night long!

Camp Meriwether is located near Cape Look Out on the Oregon Coast. It is approximately an hour and a half drive from Portland. The facilities at Camp Meriwether were top notch and can accommodate 300 to 400 people. Around the camp are trails and camp grounds with individual fire pits and sturdy Adirondacks. Also there are 2 miles of private beach. About 175 people attended 2004's camping event and all raved about how fun it was.
